Welcome to Sandworlds: Music, Sandplay & Play Therapy Services, based in Thelwall, Warrington. Sandworlds offers therapeutic services for children, adolescents and adults in the North West.

Play Therapy

Play Therapy services can be provided to children from the age of 3 to 17 years who have emotional or behaviour problems - children can be referred by school, or parents, and play therapy sessions can be offered at school, in the Play Room in Thelwall, at home, children’s centre, or hospital. The ‘play therapy toolkit’ includes sandtray, musical instruments, art materials (clay, playdoh, painting, drawing), puppets, movement and dance props, role play/dramatherapy props, and materials for creative visualisation. Play Therapy UK (PTUK) research has shown that up to 83% of children receiving play therapy experience a positive change. Read more about Play Therapy.

Sandplay for Adults

Therapeutic services using sandplay can also be offered to adults at Sandworlds in Thelwall, allowing individuals to work through emotional issues that may be affecting their lives. Sandplay is primarily a non-verbal therapy. Read more about Therapeutic Sandplay for Adults.

Music Services for Children

While therapeutic use of music is included in children’s play therapy, there are other services offered here, involving the use of music with young children and parents which focus on educational and developmental work - for babies, toddlers and older children.
